The Acton Arts Project was created to bring more life to the centre of Acton – with the old library on the high street as the focal point. They summarised this as “The old library building was gifted to the people of Acton and has stood empty for six years. our plan is to give it back to the people by creating a community space with a two-screen cinema and a café. A destination that Acton can be proud of.”
The cinema is now up and running and named “Act One Cinema” – with one screen for now. The James Bond film No Time To Die was the blockbuster that kicked things off and followed up with Dune and The French Dispatch that started their runs on 31st October 2021.
The cinema needs your support so keep an on their new site at https://www.actonecinema.co.uk to see which films and other events are coming up.
The CCA fully supported the Acton Arts bid to transform the Old Library Building into a cinema and community hub.
